Staying Focused

Thinking ahead to the weekends,

And wishing my life away,

Wanting it to always be,

A Saturday or Sunday…

Now in my senior years,

It’s harder to get up for work,

Finding every excuse to stay home,

My job responsibility I’d like to shirk…

Remembering my youth,

When I went out for fun on the weekends,

And got to work on Mondays,

Telling stories about experiences with my friends…

Youth is wasted on the young,

A thought I’d always express,

While thinking about the day at work,

And handling all of the stress…

The expenses are just too high,

So I can’t retire just yet,

I should have gotten a better job sooner,

Something I will always regret…

Most of us would rather stay home,

But that is impossible to do,

We must work for a living,

Adam and Eve, look what you got us into…

Don’t wish your life away…take each day as it comes…..
