Rekindled…

How do I enter your heart,

To really find out,

What you’re all about,

Wanting to remove all my fears,

And especially my doubts….

We’ve known each other,

For so many years…

When we met,

I was eight and you were nine,

I was excited to have a female friend,

That I could call mine…

You ended up with someone else,

Just like me,

In a short relationship lately,

I’ve learned more about you,

Than ever before,

Is there any chance we can be closer,

Because it is you I adore…

You’ve had some difficulty in your life,

And so have I,

Things got worse for me,

As time has gone by…

My heart is open to you,

At any given time,

Just remember I am here,

When can I call you mine?

This is dedicated to all those who have lost love and rekindled an old relationship.

This happened to a co-worker, and as she told me her amazing story,

it gave me an idea for this new poem.
